Innovation Shines In Irvine
 Nestled near the Pacific Ocean, just 40 miles south of Los Angeles and a little more than an hour north of San Diego, Irvine, Calif., has become a dynamic environment for entrepreneurs. The city is known for having the first and most successfully master-planned community in the country, consistently being ranked by the FBI as the safest city in the United States with a population greater than 100,000 and producing some of the highest K-12 test scores in the nation. But it's not just these factors that have brought business leaders or kept them in the city. For the past 20 years, I have observed and analyzed the reasons the 14,000 Irvine-based companies remain – or relocate - to our city, and the answer at which I arrive always remains the same.
